BioAscent Discovery Ltd., established in 2013, is a prominent player in the integrated drug discovery market, specialising in centralised compound management, assay development, high-throughput screening, medicinal, and computational chemistry. Our operations are based at the former Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD) research facilities in Newhouse, Scotland, UK.
In 2013, BioAscent was designated as the "centre of excellence" for compound management activities within the IMI-European Lead Factory consortium, comprising 30 partners, including major European Pharma companies, SMEs, and academia. This endeavour facilitated the refurbishment of our storage, liquid handling, and IT systems to meet the consortium's needs.
Our commercial compound management business has experienced rapid growth, currently overseeing a portfolio of over 5.4 million compounds in both liquid and solid forms. Since 2013, we've delivered more than 300,000 screening plates to our global clientele, with significant capacity available for seamless integration of additional client compound collections. The team is currently providing full compound management and logistics services to 75 biotechs in the US, UK, Europe and Australia, managing all aspects of compound aggregation, storage, QC, plating, tracking and shipping to testing partners around the world.
At BioAscent, we believe in building strong partnerships with our clients. The Compound Management team is under the management of Dr Sylviane Boucharens co-founder, Executive Director, member of the management team and Chief Operating Officer of BioAscent.
You will be assigned a dedicated client Account Manager who will serve as your primary point of contact throughout your engagement with us. Our team of experts is committed to understanding your specific needs and delivering tailored solutions to meet your objectives.
As a former Pharma research site, the facility boasts robust security measures, our state-of-the-art automated Compound Management facility is specifically designed to store, retrieve and deliver both solids and DMSO solutions, with a minimum turnaround time. The existing high security facilities support compound aggregation, ensure compound accessibility, maintain compound integrity, enable efficient compound usage, supporting QC, offer flexibility to adapt to new demands, and give the ability to maintain a dynamic collection, with high levels of fidelity of inventory data, essential to the success of the compound management and logistic activities. Our clients benefit from the functional existence of this significant infrastructure investment without the need for further capital investment to deliver their requirements.
Our Compound Management activities are underpinned by 2 main software components:
